7-Day AI Underwriting Workflow — the course
Seven lessons. Lessons 1–3 unlock immediately on purchase; Lessons 4–7 drip weekly. Map your workflow, insert AI at every step, measure the delta. For people who want to understand, not just copy.
What's inside
- 7 lessons delivered by email. Lessons 1–3 unlock on day of purchase; Lessons 4–7 drip weekly over the following three weeks. Each lesson ~15 minutes to read + 30–60 minutes to do.
- A workbook for every lesson — canvases for workflow mapping, a prompt builder, a 5-file stress-test grading sheet, an insertion plan template, a measurement baseline sheet, and a 30-day rollout calendar.
- One real-file worked example you build on across the week — by day 7 you have an AI-augmented underwriting workflow for a specific loan product, done.
- Email access to me for questions during the 30-day program (response within 48h; real person, not a chatbot).
- Certificate of completion — a printable PDF you fill in with your name. Not a credential; a marker of the work done.
Everything else on this site is a tool. This is the craft — a seven-lesson email course that walks you through designing, building, testing, and measuring an AI-augmented underwriting workflow for one specific loan product you pick on lesson one.
Structure note. Lessons 1–3 land in your inbox the day you buy. Lessons 4–7 drip once per week over the next three weeks. That spacing is deliberate — it forces you to run each lesson’s exercise on real files before the next one arrives. Binge-reading a course is how people waste money on courses.
The seven lessons
Lesson 1 — Map your current workflow. Before you insert AI anywhere, you draw the workflow that already exists. The lesson gives you a mapping canvas and a half-dozen prompts the map has to answer. By end of day 1 you have a one-page map of what you do today, without AI.
Lesson 2 — Find the three places AI earns its seat. Most workflows have twelve steps; AI belongs in three of them. The lesson covers the criteria — where AI is faster, where it’s better, where it’s more consistent — and the anti-criteria — where it’s tempting but wrong. By end of day 2 you’ve marked three steps on your map in green and four in red.
Lesson 3 — Write your first prompt. Not paste a prompt I wrote — write your own for step one of the three. The lesson covers prompt structure, input specification, and the honest question “is the output actually useful?” By end of day 3 you have a prompt that produces output you can defend to a credit committee.
Lesson 4 — Stress-test the prompt. (ships 1 week after purchase) Five-file stress test: four normal files and one edge case. The lesson covers what to look for, how to grade the output, and how to rewrite the prompt when it fails. By end of day 4 your prompt is v2, and you can articulate the one failure mode you still haven’t fixed.
Lesson 5 — Insert the prompt into your workflow. (ships 2 weeks after purchase) Now it’s in the map, not just a file. The lesson covers human-in-the-loop design: when the model’s output gets accepted, reviewed, or overridden. By end of day 5 you have an updated workflow map, with AI in one real position.
Lesson 6 — Measure the delta. (ships 3 weeks after purchase) What did you change and by how much? Faster? Better? More consistent? More biased? The lesson covers the three metrics that actually matter for an AI-augmented workflow, and which ones you should ignore. By end of day 6 you have numbers.
Lesson 7 — Plan the next two steps. (ships 4 weeks after purchase) The other two AI placements you marked in green on day 2. The lesson covers how to roll them out, what to avoid, and how to spot when your workflow is done vs. when it needs another iteration. By end of day 7 you have a 30-day rollout plan, written in your own voice.
Why email, not video
Most online courses bury the content in 4 hours of talking head. Email makes you read, and makes the assignment the point. Every lesson ships with a workbook — the workbook is the point, not performative consumption.
The thing the $299 buys you
Two things. Craft — the muscle to design AI-augmented workflows yourself, not just consume other people’s. And a finished artifact — by day 7, a real workflow for a real loan product, tested, measured, ready to run. You’re not buying instruction; you’re buying a supervised build.
Where it sits in the ladder
If you want finished prompts without learning the craft, buy the Library ($29). If you want finished prompts and scorecard and playbook and diagrams, buy the Starter Kit ($149). If you’re actually starting a lending business and want the whole operating system, buy the Business OS ($499). This course is for the person in the middle of those — the operator who wants to internalise the craft.
This is for you if…
- You want to understand why the prompts in the Library work, not just use them.
- You're going to operate an AI-augmented underwriting function and need the craft, not a template.
- You're an entrepreneur planning a new lender and want to internalise the workflow before hiring.
Skip this if…
- You just want the finished prompts. Buy the [$29 Library](/products/prompt-library) instead.
- You want a live cohort or a certificate. This is self-paced; no cohort, no cert.
After buying this you can…
- You can map any lending workflow and identify the three specific steps where AI earns its place.
- You've built, tested, and measured an AI-augmented underwriting workflow for one real loan product.
- You know where AI fails and how to design humans-in-the-loop around those gaps.
- You've written your own prompts, not just copied mine — so you can adapt as models change.
Frequently asked questions
Is this live or self-paced?
Self-paced, but the pacing is deliberately structured. Lessons 1–3 arrive on day of purchase (so you can start right away). Lessons 4–7 drip one per week over the following three weeks. Spacing the later lessons ensures you actually *do* the assignments instead of reading the whole thing in a weekend and retaining nothing. Lessons never expire — pause and resume at will.
How much time does it take?
~45–75 minutes per day. The reading is 15, the doing is 30–60. If you already have a workflow in your head, the 'doing' goes faster.
Will I need tools / subscriptions?
A paid LLM (ChatGPT Plus, Claude Pro, or equivalent) will make the exercises smoother. Everything else is Google Sheets or pen-and-paper.
Does this cover fraud / collections / compliance?
Lightly. The course focuses on underwriting — it's already seven lessons. For fraud go deep with the [Fraud Playbook](/products/fraud-playbook), for the broader workflow get the [Prompt Library](/products/prompt-library).
